The weekend before last, my friends and I were able to take a quick weekend trip to Nashville. Here are our favorite spots from the trip!
Jack Daniel's Tour: How do you make "Tennessee sipping whiskey"? The tour here is great for learning about the distilling process. Definitely worth a drive out here!
Arnold's Country Kitchen: The food here was amazing; the roast beef and fried green tomatoes were perfection! For a little under $10 per person, this was the best food we had in Nashville!
Hatch Show Print
: This is a famous Nashville print shop right next to the Country Music Hall of Fame. I'm not much of a country music person, but this print show was cool (and free) to check out. Try to come during the week, when the printers are at work!
: Andrew Jackson's house was definitely interesting. You learn about a lot about the President's controversial history. While the tour wasn't as informative as others, this is a must-see if you are in the area. Try to go on a sunny day as part of the tour is outside.
: The real Parthenon is under construction, so this will have to do for us in the "Athens of the South"! Before you go, check the official Nashville page
as they often have live music in the park by this monument.
: This place had some great music...think Janis Joplin and the Dead. Cool place to check out for brunch as you definitely get a slice of Nashville life.
Last tip: don't forget to rent a car! You will need it to get around the city as the public transportation isn't recommended.
Have you been to Nashville? What did you think? Where would you recommend?
