Loreal Paris Youth Code Texture Perfector Pore Vanisher Review

Last week, I unexpectedly received this product for free in the mail from Cosmopolitan. Let's see how it works...
Loreal Paris Youth Code Paris Texture Perfector Pore Vanisher

Claims: "Instantly vanish the look of pores. In 1 month: shrink actual pore size
Pore Vanisher takes a breakthrough approach to fighting pores by targeting them on three dimensions: number, size, and depth. Formulated with Perline-P that strengthens and tightens to shrink the appearance of pore size over time and Perlite to absorb excess oil for an all-day, shine-free finish."

Reality: This stuff feels kind of gross. Scratch that-this product with a super long name from Loreal has a really gross texture due to the menthol. As I always do with new products (especially ones I haven't extensively researched), I did a test patch on the underside of my arm. Within seconds of rubbing it in, the amount of silicones felt excruciating on my skin. I have really sensitive skin so I washed it off pretty darn quickly.

In the interest of fairness to the product, I ended up having a friend test it as well. Same thing-she felt tingling and irritation! No good.

I know it is a bit of a cop-out to not have tested this on my skin as a primer, but I have learned (the hard way) to be cautious. There are enough great products out there; there's no need to irritate your skin for a primer.

According to Makeupalley reviews, it seems like it is a slightly cheaper dupe for Benefit's Pore-fessional and better for oily skin. If you have acne-prone or sensitive skin, I would avoid this product!
