Sunday night wrapup (7/27)

Reading: "The Nazi Officer's Wife: How One Jewish Woman Survived the Holocaust" is amazing. Once you start, it's hard to put down. Edith, a law student from Vienna, ends up becoming a "u boat": a Jewish person hiding as an Aryan in the Reich. The book mostly discusses what does she get to that point and the people she encountered.

I highly recommend putting a hold on it at your local library as it is really popular. It took over two months for me to get an eBook copy!! 100% worth it. I will be putting on hold another book from this time period called Backing Hitler. It discusses the German public and how much was known throughout WWII.

Listening: I've been listening to Blown Away by Carrie Underwood so much the past few weeks. I love "singing" this at the top of my lungs. It's a real standout from the rest of the album (forgettable after the first 4-5 tracks). I'm hoping her next album is more like this song than Somethin' Bad w/Miranda Lambert.

Loving: I got Sinful Colors in Open Seas in a Pinchme box and am surprisingly really liking it. While I don't usually gravitate towards colors like it, I love how it pops against my more neutral basics. Only downside to this color is that I don't think it will look too great on toes.

Shopping: I just picked up a set of Shiro lipbalms for a giveaway soon along with a few orange-y/peachy samples for myself. After reorganizing my eyeshadows, I am trying to stay away from browns, yellows, and grays. I love to swatch them and I love having them in my collection...but...they just never look as good on my eye as I think they will!

Upcoming: I received samples pf Glamour Dolls Eyes shadows and will editing the photos for a blogpost tomorrow. I also finished up a few makeup items and will be doing an Empties video very soon!
