Sunday night wrap up

Reading: Stoner by John Williams. I found it through a Goodreads list of once cult favorites you've never heard of...halfway through and really liking it so far. It's about a man from Missouri in the 1920's who has to deal with life's disappointments, and the reality of day to day. Not exactly the most uplifting read for summer, but the writing is beautiful so far!

Watching: Chicago Fire Season 2. Honestly, I am so disappointed after the amazing S1! I just feel like it got 20x soapier in about six episodes. A lot of "drama"...and very little permanent character movement or development. (There is a point where a character actually says, "We were here a year ago in this same exact position."....Really, writers?) My theory is that most of the S1 writing staff has moved over to S1 Chicago PD, so I will give that a shot soon.

Listening: I really like the Grooveshark playlist by Ben this week: "Sunny Disposition". Check it out if you're into indie rock. Not everything is a hit, but I've found a few great bands that otherwise wouldn't have been on my radar.

Doing: Reorganizing my closet and preparing a bag of stuff for donation. If it doesn't fit or it doesn't work with my wardrobe, it can still be the perfect piece for someone else. It's still mindboggling to me that people throw out their clothes in the trash instead of donate!

Check out: This piece that postulates that it is still early for the internet. I have been thinking about it a lot. Sure, it may have been easier 5-6 years ago to start a biz, digitally market, or gain an audience, but this is the best time to start! Read it and maybe you will be as inspired as I am.

What have you been up to? I'd love to hear what's on your mind!
If you will be here for 1 year like I will be then I suggest the south island during summer and north island during winter ( unless you're really into skiing).
