If you've ever watched a Youtube guru, you know how this works. I save my garbage to take a picture and give you quick thoughts on the product. :) Will I buy it again? Will I not? Check it out...
|September 2014 Makeup Empties|
- Tarte BB Primer ($35, fair): After seeing what this did on QVC in a today's special kit, I was really interested. It's a super high-coverage primer and, like the infomercial showed, it does NOT mess around. When I first started using it, I had way too much on. The best method for application is to wet your stipple brush, dry until slightly wet, and then quickly dab. Then, while it's still tacky, swirl powder on top to set. I really liked this product, but I have a few other foundations to go through before rebuying. (I also will be waiting for a sale or a kit!)
- Mally Shadow Stick ($15-20, dusk): This is a brownish purple shimmer cream eyeshadow stick that I loved when I first got it. I used it everyday, and it never faded. I'd end up scrubbing my face with eyemakeup remover at 11 pm. Pretty crazy. After using a few more shadow sticks from Mally, I think this is now my least favorite color for my green eyes. It comes off more like I got punched in the face than "wow, she is good at makeup". So, no, probably not rebuying this shade although the formula is great.
- Sugar Lip Treatment ($22.50 full-size, I used a mini): Wow. I am glad to have tried this to see what all the hype was about. I got this as a mini from Sephora a few years ago and it's just been disappointing. It has a strange gritty feeling on the lips and it melts like no other in the package. I used this balm as a "pre-lipstick" conditioner, wiping it off after 5-10 minutes. Even if I did love it, $22.50 lip balm would basically have to include a $20 gift card to Amazon. I'm sticking with Chapstick here.
- Philosophy Birthday Cake 3-in-1 ($18.80, not pictured): I normally like Philosophy scents, but this birthday cake body gel went from sweet smelling to nothing by the time I finished the small bottle of it. (I have other scents that have lasted all the way through a much bigger bottle, so I think it is just this "flavor"). It is a pretty average body wash, and I will not be repurchasing.
So, what did you finish? Let me know!
